What is Shape Fit?
Shape Fit is a packing puzzle. The pieces are a cut of the board, so they always fit exactly: there is never a piece left over or a hole that cannot be filled. The question is only where each one goes.
Pieces do not rotate. They fit as dealt, which is less forgiving than it sounds.
How to play Shape Fit
The aim: Put every piece back into the board with no gaps and no overlaps.
- The pieces are a cut of the board. They always fit exactly — there is never a piece left over or a hole that cannot be filled.
- Pick, then place. Tap a piece in the tray to pick it up, then tap the board square where its top-left corner belongs.
- Nothing is stuck. Tapping a piece already on the board lifts it straight back out.
- Start in the corners. A corner can only be covered a couple of ways, and settling it pins down everything beside it.
How scoring works
- Every piece placed pays, so a partly filled board still scores.
- Filling the board completely pays a large bonus.
- Pieces do not rotate — the cut always fits as dealt.
How a round ends
The round ends when the board is full, or when you give up.
