Merge 2048
Slide the tiles, merge equal neighbours and build up to the target tile before the board jams.
What is Merge 2048?
2048 is the sliding-tile game where every swipe moves the whole board at once. Two tiles showing the same number merge into one worth double, and a new tile drops in after every move, so the thing you are really managing is space.
Calquest sets a target tile for each difficulty and lets you cash out whenever you like, so a good board is never thrown away chasing one more merge.
How to play Merge 2048
The aim: Slide and merge tiles until you reach the target tile.
- Swipe to slide. Every tile moves as far as it can in the direction you swipe. Equal neighbours merge into one.
- Keep your biggest tile cornered. Pick a corner, keep the largest tile there, and never swipe in the direction that moves it.
- Cash out any time. You do not have to play until the board jams. Finishing early banks the score you have.
How scoring works
- Each merge adds the value of the tile it creates.
- Reaching the target tile pays a completion bonus.
- The server checks the score against the highest tile reported, so an impossible board scores nothing.
How a round ends
The round ends when you reach the target, cash out, or run out of moves.
Skills it draws on
- Planning several moves ahead
- Spatial reasoning
- Doubling and powers of two
